First of all, as one of the general-purpose plastics, the biggest advantage of PVC is its low price. Because PVC monomer raw materials are easy to obtain and have a large capacity, the price is generally around 600-8000 yuan/ton, and the price can be cheaper when the market is not good. Of course, this is the price of the resin, and the price of the modified PVC material varies according to different formulations.

Secondly, the physical properties are excellent. Acid and alkali resistance, good insulation, flame retardant effect, abrasion resistance, excellent weather resistance, etc. If it is rigid PVC, its surface hardness, tensile strength, rigidity, etc. are higher than PE, close to ABS; if it is soft PVC, it has a certain degree of flexibility, resembling rubber, and is resistant to folding.

Thirdly, if some products are made, such as PVC pipes, it is easy to install, cut and connect; the inner wall is smooth, fluid flow loss is small, and dirt is not easy to adhere to the inner wall; the material is relatively light, and the cost of transportation is low.

Finally, it is precisely because of the above-mentioned various advantages, and the price is relatively low compared with other polymer materials, so the application range is very wide. At present, the research of new PVC materials has not stopped, and the alloy and modification research of other other materials are getting more and more attention, such as PVC replacing steel materials with plastics, and wood materials with plastics.
